Crappy Birthday...

Well, the 33rd was a rough.
Plans were to go out to dinner at my favorite restraunt - Bonefish...but at 10 PM the night before Cyle got sick - a terrible virus that has landed many locally in the hospital - and we were up all night.  At 10 AM the next morning her mother came, and I finally got 2 hours sleep before going into work and playing catch up.  In the meanwhile, I was fighting off a chest-cold, which made me VERY nervous because she & I are scheduled to lead all 3 services at the largest & fastest growing church in the County this Sunday - ack!

On the good side, I was spoiled rotten by gifts:
A 35 gig video IPod, which 7500 songs...
A number of new clothes...
and a book (see above) that's been on my 'to read' list for 6 months...

Also, I've gotten to enjoy the INCREDIBLE Djembe I bought Cyle for Mother's Day...

Well, we're all feeling better, but the week is so busy I'm not sure if I'm coming or going...
I hope you all are well...
amen...

Happy birthday!!! I subscribed to your myspace blog, added you as a friend, joined your group, commented on the group forum, mailed ya, and took the list of reformed charismatics and non-cessationist theologians which are friendly to our movement and posted it on my site. And I borrow a pic from your myspace for the post. I hope you do not sue me. : )

I am so glad to have met you and your husband. All this time I felt so alone... yet all the while I was in the midst of friends.

Sproul was the one convinced me of Reformed theology. I read his "Holiness of God" in college and it changed my life. I own and have read (as you have seen in my picture on myspace) many of his books. I must admit though that I am far more into the works of Gary North (my all time favorite), Doug Wilson, and Greg Bahnsen. I also really love the works of Gary DeMary, David Chilton (his Productive Christians in an Age of Guilt Manipulators is amazing!), Van Til, Rushdoony, Kenneth Gentry, and recently I have started reading (and enjoy greatly) NT Wright as well. I want to read more stuff by reformed charismatics but am unaware of many writers outside of Grudem (which I have yet to read). I would also like to do more reading on the issue of Emergent Church.

PS- Is radical orthodoxy the same as what is promoted in the book "a generous orthodoxy"?
